Back in June, our S1 pupils got creative as part of an exciting “Marseum” project, where they imagined they were creating a museum about Scotland for visitors from Mars! 👽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Working in small groups, pupils researched an important Scottish topic and then designed and created their own museum models. They could choose from a range of topics, including Scottish landmarks, politics, history and culture.

The project gave pupils the opportunity to use their research skills, creativity and teamwork to decide what they thought someone from another planet should know about Scotland. Their models were designed to explain not only what their topic was, but also why it was important to Scotland and how it impacts our world.

We are delighted that some of our fantastic S1 Marseum pieces are now on display at Motherwell Heritage Centre! 🏛️✨

It is brilliant to see our pupils’ hard work and creativity being shared with the wider community. A huge well done to all of our S1 pupils involved – we are incredibly proud of what you have created! 👏🌍🚀

This week, 1C1 and 1N1 embarked on an unforgettable journey into Scotland’s storied past with a visit to the Battle of Bannockburn Experience.

The day began with weapons handling, where pupils got hands-on with replica medieval arms and armour. Guided by the expert instructors, they learned how warriors prepared for battle and the skill it took to wield a sword or shield.

Next came the immersive battle experience, plunging pupils into the heart of the 1314 conflict. Through cutting-edge technology and dramatic storytelling, they witnessed the clash between Robert the Bruce and Edward II, gaining a deeper appreciation for the bravery and strategy that shaped Scottish history

To round off the day, pupils took part in an outdoor trail quiz, exploring the grounds while solving clues and testing their knowledge. It was a brilliant blend of learning, teamwork and fresh air!

The trip sparked curiosity, camaraderie and a whole lot of fun! The pupils were a credit to Taylor High School.
