GOOD LUCK to our National 5 and Higher Music candidates
VOCAL COACHING with Siobhan McCauley
We have been very lucky to secure Siobhan McCauley for three 2-hour Future Friday sessions, to support our SQA singers in their final preparations for their SQA Music practical exam next week. This included learners from S4, S5 & S6 sitting National 5, Higher & Advanced Higher Music. The singers have been focussing on mood & character, breathing techniques, projection and fundamentally building confidence for their exam performance.
Siobhan McAuley has been immersed in musical performance from an early age. At the age of five she joined the Glasgow Youth Choir singing as a soloist and touring throughout Europe. Since graduating from the RSAMD (now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) Siobhan has continued to perform solo in operas, recitals and nationwide competitions. Highlights she recalls include playing principal cast roles in Mozart’s Magic Flute and Marriage of Figaro, Puccini’s La Bohème, Berlioz’s Nativity and Faure’s Requiem. More recently Siobhan has led the cast of London’s West End hit show The Lion King building up a reputation as one of the UK’s leading vocal coaches. Siobhan is the founder and creative director of the Ayrshire Infinity Choir.
Learn Pipe Band Snare or Tenor Drumming

Taylor High School Rock Band
Taylor High School Rock Band represented the school at the North Lanarkshire Council Music Showcase at the Motherwell Concert Hall on the 8th December and entertained a full house with their rendition of ‘Jingle Bell Rock‘. They were performing amongst the creme de la creme of young musicians within the authority. Well done: Noel Quinn S3 (vocals & rhythm guitar), Patrick Pllu S3 (lead guitar), Lena Surma S3 (bass guitar) and Rooney Chan S4 (drum kit)

It is a special year for Taylor High School as it is our 40th Anniversary serving the community in Faith and Learning. Here is a clip of Schola Cantorum having their final rehearsal of Only In God before our Bishop’s Mass to launch our big birthday year. This hymn was used for the Reflection.
Taylor High School Choir, “Schola Cantorum” sing at North Lanarkshire’s “Integrative Practice and Health and Wellbeing Event” at Motherwell Concert Hall
We were absolutely delighted to be invited to close this very important event on the 15th of June, for North Lanarkshire Council. It was attended by all NLC Head Teachers and other related profession leads. Special mention to John and Noel who took solos in the songs.
