Seasons for Growth – Celebration Session

Today, our Seasons for Growth group enjoyed their Celebration Session.

Seasons for Growth is an education program that builds resilience and wellbeing of children who have recently experienced loss or change. The course has been developed by professionals and is delivered by Mrs Robertson and Miss Conlon.

Pupils have been supported with their confidence & self-esteem, how to be more in control of their emotions, how to improve communication and also supported to know that they have choices about how they respond to changes/situations.

The groups enjoyed a Dominoes pizza lunch and movie afternoon!

Talkabout for Teenagers – Celebration Sessions

Over the last week, our two Talkabout for Teenagers groups enjoyed their Celebration Sessions.

Talkabout for Teenagers is a course developed by professionals, delivered by Mrs Robertson, Mr Murphy and Miss Conlon. Pupils have been supported with social and relationship skills. The groups covered topics such as friendships, body language and how to react on good and bad days.

The groups enjoyed a hot breakfast roll as well as doing manicures and face masks!

MacMillan Coffee Morning

Our S3 Support Group pupils are currently undertaking their SQA Personal Development Award and as part of their Self in Community Module, they helped to organise the MacMillan Coffee Morning.

The pupils were responsible for promoting the event, setting up the staff room, helping at the event and tidying up the theatre afterwards.

They helped the school raise £710.02 for MacMillan. Well done all!

S6 Peer Tutors – Thank You and Well Done!

We are very proud of our S6 Peer Tutors who we said goodbye to this week. These pupils have assisted both within S1-3 classes and also with individual pupils’ spelling and comprehension this year. S6 pupils will receive Saltire Volunteering Awards for dedicating their time to this – some pupils even managed to complete a fantastic amount of 75 hours. Well done everyone!

Miss Conlon and Mrs Robertson would like to thank you all so much for the help you have provided within the department this year.
