St. Teresa's Primary and Nursery

The pupils in Room 1 had a great time visiting Tesco today.We were guided around the supermarket by Maggs and Liz; they showed us what happens to all of the produce they sell before it goes out to customers.

We watched as a delivery was brought into the store; we walked among trolleys stacked with packets of food; we looked inside of the freezer and spotted ice lollies; we walked inside the fridge that keeps the milk cold; and we tried hard to spot items with the Fairtrade logo.

We looked at fruits and vegetables and tasted different types of cheese and fruits. We also got creative, decorating cupcakes and biscuits. They tasted good!

The pupils in Room 1 have enjoyed learning about symmetry. We know that a symmetrical object must be exactly the same colour and shape on each side. We have been finding out if objects are symmetrical by folding them in half and using mirrors to check if each side is the same. The pupils in Room 1 enjoyed a walk around the village on Friday 4th of March. As we walked we actively looked for signs of spring; we spotted daffodils and other new buds growing. We have also been learning about living and non-living things in class so we were eager to identify both living and non-living things on our walk. Please have a look at the photographs we captured.
