A massive vote of thanks to our Mini Vinnie volunteers who helped out with the set up of our Annual Hallowe’en Clothing Event. We are so grateful for the huge amount of donations we had of pre-loved Hallowe’en outfits, and were pleased to see so many members of our school community grab a costume free of charge, to help with the cost of living crisis.

Our Right Respecting Representatives delivered their first refresher session this afternoon. Room 12 discussed the UNCRC and prioritised which rights are most relevant to them.

We came together as a school today to rehearse our hymns for First Friday Mass, and pray a Rosary as we reflected on the First Sorrowful Mystery.

Primary 4-7 were pleased to welcome Father Gideon and Father Peter, who are leading a Parish Mission in St Patrick’s Parish this week. We learned more about Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, and what a Parish Mission entails. Special services will take place in St Patrick’s church at 7pm every day this week, and all are welcome!

We worked as a team to create a Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired piece of artwork. Lots of talking, listening and collaboration took place which resulted in a super display of the Scottish artists style.

As part of UK Parliament Week, Rooms 12 and 13 had an informative and entertaining visit from our constituency MP, Frank McNally. We have been learning about the Scottish Parliament as part of our topic, and had a great Q&A session, which taught us more about Parliamentary procedures, and how our local MP can support constituents and represent them in the House of Commons.

Rooms 12 and 13 were pleased to welcome Philippa Mason from UK Parliamentary Education for a very informative visit. We learned more about democracy, the make up of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the UK Voting system, and the Legislative process! We then linked this information to our work on the UNCRC and our class charters.
