P7 Outdoor Explore and More CLD sessions

Ideas for successful outdoor learning in your primary school curriculum education teaching schools lessons - Headteacher Update

Just a reminder that the Explore and More Sessions run by CLD begin tomorrow, Tuesday 20th October from 3.30-5pm for those P7 children who have completed and handed in enrolment forms.  Children can stay on from 3pm and have a snack of juice and crisps – which will be provided – before the club starts.  I have attached a Parental Information Leaflet and enrolment form if your child is interested in this however have lost their form.  These were given out before the October break. Further Paper copies can be provided if needed tomorrow.

After the snack/informal part of the afternoon – the remainder of the session would focus on team-building activities, outdoor learning experiences, and working towards an accredited award.

The group has a strong focus on outdoor learning and provides young people with the opportunity to achieve the North Lanarkshire Challenge Outdoor Award. The award consists of four sections: Physical, Skills, Volunteering, and Adventure. Each section requires four hours of participation and upon successful completion, the young people will receive their award.

For those parents that have managed to successfully link to Parents Portal, your child’s Term 1 tracking report will now be available to view through the portal.  We are currently sitting with just over 80% of our families using Parents Portal which is a great achievement.  If you are struggling in any way to try and get registered Miss McLelland, Head Teacher, and Mrs Denholm, clerical, will be available to try and help during our Parents’ Evening tomorrow evening, Thursday 8th October.  Hopefully we can get as many parents online as we can.

Postponement of P6/5 Parents’ Evening

All P6/5 parents have been emailed via groupcall with this information this afternoon:
We are writing to let you know that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we unfortunately need to postpone the upcoming P6/5 Parents’ Evening.

We appreciate that families may already have made arrangements to attend, and we want to reassure you that this is not a decision we have taken lightly. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause.

A new date will be confirmed after the October break, with the rescheduled Parents’ Evening likely to take place in November. Where possible, for families who have already booked an appointment, we will endeavour to retain your existing appointment time.

Further information, including the confirmed date and arrangements, will be shared as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support.

Kind regards,
