Primary 7 to Secondary School Transition

Throughout Primary 7, pupils will be supported as they prepare for the exciting move to secondary school.

Staff from Our Lady’s High School will work closely with the P7 teacher and the Senior Leadership Team to plan a smooth and positive transition experience.

All pupils will have the opportunity to visit Our Lady’s High School—typically in June—where they’ll take part in a typical school day, follow a timetable, and explore a variety of curricular subjects.

In addition, teachers from Our Lady’s will visit the primary school to deliver lessons from different subject areas, helping pupils get to know staff and understand how learning works at secondary level.

Pupils attending other secondary schools will also be invited to visit their chosen school at different times, arranged by those schools.

As a special part of the P7 Graduation, pupils will be gifted their secondary school tie to mark this important milestone.
