St Joseph’s Whole School Focus: Social Skills for Life

At St Joseph’s, we are committed to nurturing confident and respectful communicators through a whole school focus on social skills.

Using the Listening and Talking Experiences and Outcomes alongside the benchmarks, we aim to build strong foundations in communication that support learning, life, and work—while also developing vital meta-skills for the future.

Each month, classes across the school will explore a specific outcome, tailored to their developmental stage:

• P1 – Early Level
• P2–4 – First Level
• P5–7 – Second Level

Through discussion, reflection, and practice, pupils will be encouraged to engage positively with peers and adults, strengthening their ability to listen actively, express themselves clearly, and interact with empathy.
