Facts on wasps –
1. Wasps can be noisy and aggressive.
2. Wasps can be useful as they hunt and eat almost every insect that harms farmers crops. They eat grasshoppers, aphids (plant lice), flies and other bees. They also eat nectar, tree sap, fruit and human food.
3. Wasps live everywhere except Antartica and can sting over and over again. They live in colonies.
4. A queen wasp starts a colony in Spring and other wasps work for her to bring food and make a larger nest. The queen then starts laying eggs and a colony can grow to 50,000 wasps.
