Pupils normally transfer to secondary school between the ages of 11 and a half and 12 and a half, so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least 4 years of secondary education. Pupils from Stepps Primary School normally transfer to:
Staff from both schools work closely to ensure the needs of all pupils are met.
Our transition process begins in Primary 6, when all pupils have the opportunity to spend a half day visiting classes at Chryston High. For our Primary 7 pupils, this is increased to two full days of lessons in the June preceding their move to CHS.
In addition, teachers and students from the High School visit the feeder primaries throughout the year, strengthening the relationship between the schools. Open evenings for parents and carers are also held to offer you the opportunity to view the High School building, meet the staff, purchase uniforms and have your questions answered.
