Stepps Primary School is situated off Cumbernauld Road in the village of Stepps. The school serves the areas of Stepps, Cardowan and Millerston. The school is easily accessible from the M80(A80) with a railway station five minutes walk away.
The new school building opened in November 2007 as part of the PPP project within North Lanarkshire. The building provides accommodation for our pupils, a nursery, a library and community facilities, including an all weather floodlit pitch.
The school comprises a semi circular main corridor housing the main office, staff room, Senior Management Team offices, tutorial rooms, ICT Suite, community room, dining hall, gym hall and audio visual theatre. Classes are housed in the two teaching wings radiating from the main corridor. Class bases are semi open plan. There are seven class bases in the upper teaching wing and six class bases in the lower teaching wing.
The school roll is currently 394 with a maximum capacity of 347.
The school is both non denominational and co-educational.
