Stepps Primary School has been participating in the Eco Schools Scotland Initiative for many years, achieving Green Flag status in 2011. Eco-Schools is an international initiative designed to encourage whole-school action for the environment. It is an environmental management tool, learning resource and recognised award scheme.
We achieved our Bronze Eco-School award in 2007 and our Silver award in June 2008. We were awarded our green flag in March 2011. In November 2013 we successfully went through our Green Flag renewal. We are very proud of our green flag and we have to keep up our Eco activities in order to maintain our green flag status.
Each year the Eco Committee carry out an Environmental Review. We look at each of the areas outlined by Eco Schools which helps us focus on aspects which we need to develop. From this we make up our yearly Action Plan. ~We must always focus on Litter and then pick two further areas.
This year these will be Biodiversity and Sustaining Our World.

And a pound or two
That’s what it’s all about

Go!!!! Eco, Eco, Eco
Go!!! Eco, Eco, Eco
