Wednesday…we’re half way there!!

Another full day of activities in the sunshine today. Safari, Gorge Walking, Hill Walking, Canoeing and Skiing have kept us busy!

(Please note, we are taking a lot more photographs than we are able to post on-line. Some of our devices are refusing to connect to the Kilbowie wifi. Please bear with us while we try to give you a flavour of our adventures this week.)

Shrove Tuesday

March 1, 2017 by Mrs Shaw | 5 Comments

On Tuesday it was Shrove Tuesday, known to some as “Pancake Tuesday”. We decided that we would make out own pancakes. Mrs Shaw put us into groups and then gave us the recipe and the ingredients. We waited for the instructions but Mrs Shaw said nothing! Then someone asked, “What have we to do next?” “Follow the recipe !” was the reply.

So all of the groups have to take responsibility to make sure that they measure all of the ingredients correctly and follow the correct instructions. Most of the groups achieved the correct texture of batter for their pancakes but there were 2 groups that had some very strange pancakes. However that didn’t stop them from eating them.

Art – Ted Harrison

This term we have been looking at the art work of Ted Harrison. We learnt that he was born in England and then moved to Canada. He likes to use bold colours in his paintings. We were inspired by his style and created out own art work.

In Yukon in Canada they have monuments called Inukshuks. The mysterious stone figures known as inuksuit can be found in Canada. Inukshuk, means “in the likeness of a human”. Although the traditional meaning of inukshuk is “Someone was here” or “You are on the right path”.

We will post our finished art work soon.
