Parents and Carers are asked to inform the school if a pupil is unable to attend. This should be done early on the first day of absence.
In addition, parents are requested to notify the school by telephone or letter if their child is absent, or likely to be absent, for some time. The child should be given a note on their return, confirming the reason for absence.
Every effort should be made to avoid family holidays during term time, as this both disrupts the child’s education and reduces learning time.
Such absences will be classified as authorised only in exceptional circumstances. These circumstances would need to be discussed and agreed with the Head Teacher in advance .
