This week we have been taking part in Science Week investigations. We have been doing experiments, predicting what would happen and reporting the results. We worked in pairs and individually and didn’t always predict correctly, but we had fun!
In the first experiment we had to test the sensitivity of different parts of our body by pressing two sharp pencils gently against the skin. In some sensitive areas only one point was felt!
In another we were testing air pressure inside a plastic bottle by blowing up a balloon inside it, once with a hole in the bottle, and once without. It was much easier to blow up the balloon when there was a hole in the bottle because the air around the balloon was pushed out through the hole.
