New Link Added

We are always delighted to hear your feedback about our school and nursery.  We have been working hard over recent weeks to make our new website informative for you, our parents.

Thank you for the recent suggestion to include a link to your Learning Journals here, on our Nursery Home Page.

We added it immediately and hope you find it useful.

Any other suggestions to make the website more user friendly would be gratefully received.

Pizza Making

While learning about shapes, Miss McGuire helped the children to make their very own pizzas using the shape cutters. The delicious smell travelled up the corridor to Mr McKeever who was looking for a takeaway for his lunch!

Outdoor Learning

The children have been enjoying learning outdoors despite the rain, snow and wind! They’ve been using our outdoor boxes to enhance their outdoor experience. In the photographs below, they are using the resources in our rainy day box to learn about, measure and experiment with rain. The resources on offer included pipettes, food colouring, paint, plastic tubs, funnels, pipes and umbrellas.

ABC Music

The children will be visited by the coordinators of ABC music on Monday 15th February. The children will be engaged in music sessions with the instructors, using the ABC music bags, ABC website and ABC apps. Mrs Young continues to take our music programme in the Nursery forward using both the ABC materials and the Kodaly music resource. Here are some photographs of the children engaged and focused in Mrs Young’s sessions.

Tae Kwon-do

The children have been thoroughly enjoying their Tae Kwon-do sessions every Monday since returning to Nursery in January. They’ve been learning a variety of different kicks, punches and protection movements. As well as developing their gross motor skills, these sessions have also provided an opportunity for the children to develop their listening skills and practise linking a series of instructions together.

Big Chef, Little Chef

The children enjoyed taking part in our Big Chef, Little Chef workshop on 26th January. With the help of their Big cooks, they made some delicious vegetable cous cous and a fruit car. As well as preparing some tasty dishes, they learned about different ways to chop up vegetables e.g. tearing, snipping and cutting. Thank you to all of the parents who were able to come along.
