The children were keen to retell the story The Three Billy Goats Gruff using puppets. They are learning about characters and events in stories through role play.

Sports Day

The children had great fun taking part in races at sports day. Everyone tried really hard and had a fantastic time. Thank you to parents/carers, relatives and friends who came to watch and cheer us on.

Butterflies
We have been learning about butterflies and have been excited watching tiny caterpillars grow into big caterpillars and making their cocoon. On Tuesday we came into nursery to find five beautiful butterflies! We fed them fruit and flowers and yesterday let them go.
Nursery trip

Everyone had a fantastic time on the nursery trip to Biggar! Pip and Panda’s adventure to find the tooth fairy had us all entertained and we even got to meet them in person after the show! The sun shone and we had fun playing in the park after our picnic lunch. There were a few sleepy heads on the bus home!

Summer Fun Day…not long now!
ECO Action day!

The children enjoyed learning about looking after their world on Eco Action day and were ready to take part in fun activities wearing their brown and green clothes. They enjoyed learning how to look after our environment by litter picking and had lots of fun collecting all the rubbish. We watched a power point about Eco and listened to interesting facts. Some of the children talked about their own experiences, such as putting their litter in the bin and recycling food. The children also reused plastic bottles in the water for pouring and filling and made fantastic models, such as cannons, a bed and a house, using junk boxes. Well done everyone, what a fun day we had!.

We have been practising our songs for our assembly and today Mrs Young’s mum Linda kindly came in and played the piano for us. She thought we were coming along well and enjoyed meeting us!

This week some of the children have had the opportunity to use the computer room, in the school. The children were developing their fine motor skills while using the mouse to draw.

Animal role play
During our gym session last week the children moved their bodies to music and musical instruments, pretending to be jungle animals. They had lots of fun and were also becoming aware of space and how to share with others.
