About us

St Brigid’s is a Roman Catholic Primary School, which admits both girls and boys from Primary 1 to Primary 7.  There are eight bright and spacious classrooms in our part of the building, these open onto two spacious working areas used by class teachers to give pupils the freedom to work independently. The school shares a variety of spaces with Newmains Primary and the Family Learning Centre: STEM and GP room, nurture room, music box, PE hall, cooking lab, 4G football pitch and ICT base. Outside, children have access to a large tarmacadam playground which includes, sensory areas, forest area, tree house and 4G football pitch. These areas are shared with our friends from Newmains Primary.

This session, we have 5 straight classes and two composite class. Parents should note that the configuration and number of classes in the school could vary year by year, dependent upon the number of pupils at each stage and the way in which the children are organised.

St. Brigid’s Parish

We are very fortunate to have our Church St. Brigid’s, on our doorstep. This means we can walk there for mass and other special times. Our Parish Priest is Father Stephen Rooney, who is also the Parish Priest of St. Ignatius. Father Sweeney, a retired priest, is resident in the Parish House. He also celebrates Mass.  Sister Maria Gorretti is also a valued member of our school community.
