Update from Primary 6

Hello again from Primary 6; we cannot believe that Term 1 has been and gone already!

The class have been working extremely hard looking at our Enterprise topic. Looking at different functions within a business, the class took part in a Dragon’s Den pitch to suggest ideas for our very own pop-up shop after October break…watch this space!

We also explored the role of different scientists and inventors and the impact they have had on the world; from Florence Nightingale and Henry Ford to Steve Jobs.

The class have embraced a range of learning experiences and are looking forward to next term!

Update from P3

Primary 3 have had a very busy term and we cannot believe that it is the October week already!

We have been working hard across all areas of the curriculum and we have loved learning about the Victorians. We have learned about Victorian houses, schools and toys. We loved using role play to create Victorian schools as we took on the role of strict Victorian teachers. We also loved learning about Charles Rennie Mackintosh and creating our own Mackintosh designs. Primary 3 also enjoyed playing traditional Victorian playground games during outdoor learning.

What a great term it has been, keep checking twitter for lots of updates on our learning.

An Update From Primary 7

Hello again from Primary 7! We cannot believe that Term 1 is over already.

So far we have had an excellent first term full of learning, fun and lots of hard work, and we are excited to share with you what we have been learning.

During maths, we have been learning all about place value and applying our rounding skills and knowledge in a range of different activities and stations. We have also been improving our mental agility by discussing and learning new mental strategies during Number Talks. We have been learning about symmetry and using the outdoors and a variety of equipment to work cooperatively to create our own symmetrical pictures.

Primary 7 have had lots of wonderful opportunities this term such as the ‘Try Everything’ day where we had lots of fun. We were able to explore our individual skills, talents and abilities by taking part in a range of activities. We have also enjoyed a Judo taster session where the pupils had lots of fun trying out different Judo techniques.

We are also enjoying the responsibility and leadership in Primary 7 by training to be Sports Leaders. This involves working with our Active Schools coordinator to plan games and activities in small groups which the pupils will then deliver to our younger children during lunchtimes.

We are continuing to learn about, and apply, a growth mindset to help us be more successful. Primary 7 have learned about success being an iceberg, and enjoyed creating our own icebergs using different painting techniques.

We can’t wait to share our learning with you on the school Twitter feed and in our next blog post!
