St. Brendan's Primary School and Nursery

We are voyaging together in a community of faith, love and learning.

Fair Trade Committee

Our Fairtrade Committee provides pupils with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of Fairtrade and to be actively involved in raising awareness and supporting Fairtrade within our school community. The Fairtrade committee strives to promote the awareness of Fairtrade throughout our school community and hopes to encourage our local community to purchase Fairtrade products so farmer’s in developing countries receive a fair price for their produce.

We also have a small steering group made up of senior pupils. During Fairtrade fortnight, the senior committee deliver presentations at whole school assemblies, run the Fairtrade tuckshop, organise competitions, class activities and events involving the community to raise awareness about Fairtrade.

Through learning about the importance of Fairtrade we are encouraging our pupils to become responsible global citizens and effective contributors.
