Burns Day Celebrations

As part of their Health topic on Food, Primary 1 explored foods eaten at special celebrations. Our timing couldn’t have been more perfect and the children learned all about special foods typically eaten on Burns Day. There was no better way to learn about this than to experience it so we reenacted a Burns Supper with music from bagpipes, poetry, singing and of course a little taster of haggis, neeps and tatties. Some cleared their plates and even had second helpings…others didn’t! The children all did, however, give it a go! We had a lovely, memorable time.
