Our last day in Primary 5 has been exciting and fun! It has been a pleasure to teach such lovely children and I wish them all the best for Primary 6.
Have a great summer!

We had an amazing time at our Bumble Bee Tea on Friday! Our invited guests came buzzing in our door at 2pm, and there was standing room only as all of the visitors squeezed in to see our work. We delighted our visitors with facts, poems, stories and songs all related to our “Bee” theme. Afterwards, our guests played our homemade board games with us……fun, fun, fun!

Phew! It’s been very busy here in P4 as we get ever closer to becoming Primary 5’s. We’re starting to look like P5’s, we’re starting to behave like P5’s and our work is definitely of a P5 standard! Here are some examples of our wonderful writing. Mrs McLean is super impressed…
In maths, we have been learning all about standard units of measure. We know that length is measured in centimetres and metres, and we have been practising how to estimate and measure lots of everyday items…
And that’s not all! In science, we’ve been investigating what different types of germs can do to our bodies. We took part in a role play where we became doctors and patients and diagnosed each other’s illnesses…
We also decided to explore how germs spread. We have started a scientific experiment that we’ll need to keep an eye on over the next few days. We learned about the terms ‘control group’ and ‘hypothesis’ and tested different areas in the classroom for germs using pieces of bread. We also tested our clean hands and our dirty hands…
We have tested lots of surfaces including a chewed pencil, the light switch, the floor, a sole of someone’s shoe and even Luka’s hair! We hypothesise that the light switch will show up the most germs. We’ll keep you posted!
We were also given a very special treat this week by the lovely ladies in the Pray for Our School Group. To celebrate our recent First Holy Communion, the ladies put on a tea for us and we were well and truly spoiled. We were also given beautiful gifts of Rosary Beads from Poland and Fatima, and Miraculous Medals which have been blessed by the Bishop of Nottingham. A huge and heartfelt thanks to the ladies for their kindness…
And last but not least, some photos of the amazing day we had at Primary Games last week…
Have a great weekend everyone!

Joe Bradley came in to see our class this week to hand out some awards to children who impressed him during the Gaelic Football tournament. There were most improved players, players who worked very hard, player of the match and one girl who won best female player in the whole tournament. Phew how proud are we!

If you popped into pr7 this week you would be so impressed with our maths work! We have been solving equations and working with Algebra. We have finding the value of “n” by balancing equations. It has been great fun and you can feel the satisfaction in the room as each puzzle and equation is solved!

We have been working our socks off in primary 7 writing critical essays about our own chosen novel.
All year, Mrs MacFarlane has been guiding us through some critical analysis of texts and we are now able to put all this together into a final essay. We have explored themes, characters and settings. We have used quotes to explore our points and added our own opinion.
Our critical essays are being sent up to the high school. We hope they will be impressed.

Primary seven have been getting busy in the Mark Millar Performing Art Studio. We have been learning about musical notes, the stave and have been reading some music and playing some instruments.
We have really mastered how to play Ode to joy by Beethoven!
We even had a go at composing and playing our own music!
Our next step is to progress onto the keyboard. Can’t wait!

Great fun was had by all at the sports day last week!
The primary seven children were proud to lead their houses out on to the fields for a day of sunshine, laughter and brilliant races.
The seven’s were also praised for their help with each race. They were busy setting up equipment, helping wee ones and delivering water to some thirsty racers. Well done children!
The winning house at the end of the day was Summerlee. The two house captains were delighted!

We have had another brilliant week in primary 1/2. As usual, we have worked hard and have also surprised our teacher with some of the awards we have acieved outside of school.
Also this week, we had sports day and as you can see from the pictures it was absolutely wonderful.
This week we also explored the rights that we are entitled to…..
In writing time, we all wrote a letter to our new teacher so that she or he can get to know us… we don’t know who it is yet… but we hope they like our letters.
Another busy week. We are looking forward to our Bumble Bee Tea next Friday. BZZZZZZZZ!!!
