Primary 2 14.9.20

We have been busy in class. In maths, we have been learning about halves. We can work out how many halves can make a whole, we can count in halves.

In reading, we are looking at non fiction books and learning to use the contents page correctly.

Everyone is enjoying finding out new information about interesting animals, places and people. Some of us are reading about the banana spider!

In our topic work, we are also learning new facts. This week, we have read and researched information about the sea turtle. We have written reports about the life cycle of a sea turtle and we have created our own sea turtles after looking closely at them in their underwater environments.

Also, we have learning a new sound this week, the ee sound, and using it to write new words and sentences.

Primary 1 Puppets

This week in Primary 1 our focus has been the story of Old Macdonald’s Farm. We listened to the story and learned all about the different animals found on the farm. We even made our own animal puppets to help us act out the song.

24th June Primary 1

Good morning everyone,
so this is the official last day of primary 1 for our wee stars! It is not as we imagined, but I think you would agree that each one of them has shown great resilience and super spirit during the lockdown!
I have put together a power point for the end of term which you can access on the right – End of year Assembly. I hope it brings some nice memories for you and your child. I have loved them all and I really wanted to take them on to P2, so I am delighted that we will all
be together again!

The End of the Year

The end has come so very quickly – it’s time to move along,
The final days of this school year have been and now are gone.

This year has been so wonderful; the time has gone so fast,
We’ve learnt so much; had so much fun – the time’s just whizzed past.

Enjoy your summer holidays and get some well-earned rest,
To start the new year full of beans; prepared to try your best.

But I am the lucky one – I’m certain this is true,
Because I get to teach and spend the time next year with you!

Loads and loads of love,
Mrs Carlin

Last day Primary 5! 24.06.20

Good morning children!

Well, we have reached our last day of school. What a uniquely strange time it has been! I’m sure we all have lots of memories of the last few months – some lovely memories of time with our families and perhaps we’ve experienced some worries too. Today, please take the time to tell me about some of your favourite lockdown memories; maybe you went on bike rides, or baking, or painting rainbows. Tell me also about how you are feeling about coming back to school in August.

Remember to keep in touch today. You can continue with your End of Term activities plan and send me photos or messages.

Have a wonderful last day!

Take care and have a great Summer.

Good morning boys and girls.
Well done, you have made it to the last week of home learning! Here is this week’s virtual classroom, it is the last one before the summer holidays.

P6a 22nd June end of term classroom

You can choose what you want to do. The balloons will take you to the end of term activity booklet and all other objects and posters around the class will take you to other summer tasks. Try to do 2 per day this week.
Today is North Lanarkshire’s Virtual Sport’s Day. I have put the poster on our classroom to take part. All other details are on NLC Active Schools Twitter page.
Have a great day everyone and remember to send me the tasks you choose to do!
Mrs Crielly💛
