Busy time in Primary 5/6

We have been working hard in class over the past few weeks.

We have now started Big Maths last week to improve our mental agility in Maths.

We have been busy developing our problem solving skills in the Stem Zone. We created some super designs.

P3 Spooky Spider Webs

Primary 3 had great fun this afternoon completing some Halloween themed art. We used black paper and chalk to create our own spooky spider webs. Some people even added extra spiders, bats and flies for decoration!

Primary 1 – Happy Street

Look at our New street! We designed and created the perfect street for our community and then we all voted on  a name and called it “Happy Street”. Everyone had fun creating and designing the new buildings – we have hospitals, churches, houses, shops, cafes, a petrol station, a cafe, a Chinese restaurant….. Pop down and have a wander down our street.

We also had our Stay and Read again. Everyone had fun reading books from our lovely library, we even had some new faces this time around and everyone is welcome.

Look out for photos of our class assembly..coming soon.

The Human Body

In primary 4 we are loving our topic all about the human body! We have learned about our eyes and ears, we know all about the bones that make up the skeleton and we have learned about our amazing brain! We really enjoy our weekly art lessons too, here are some of our wonderful creations!

Peer assessment and working with buddies!

This week we really worked our socks off in taught writing. As we are now in seniors, we are trying to write more but we are also trying to include all the features of our genre; persuasive writing.

To make sure we are fulfilling our success criteria we went into pairs and did a peer assessment with each other. We discussed what we did well and made up new targets for next week.

We had a lovely end to our week when we got to be narrators at our buddies’ assembly. We even got to go down to the classroom for sweets and a biscuit! It was fab!

Building a great week with the primary sixes!

This week we had a fantastic week exploring the Stem zone! We had a go at Kinex, gears and levers and we were the first group to try the lego challenge stations. Some of our challenges were to make a robot, to make life size food and to make a home out of lego. Some of us made bridges, games and one group even attempted to make remote control mouse!

We were using our creative skills along with problem solving skills and of course we were being very co-operative working with each other. It was a great week all round!

Learning in P.1/2

We have had another busy week in class. P.2 children have been using symbols to make number sentences. The symbols mean less than, greater than or equal to. We’ve been using crocodile mouths to help us with this! It’s been great fun.

P.1 children have been looking at the number before, after and between. The big number tiles helped us with this…

We love reading in class too. We have enjoyed having our parents in for Stay and Read!

We finished off our week with the P.1 Thanksgiving Prayer Service. Thank you to the P.2 children for being a great audience!
