P6b Update

We have been working hard the past few weeks in P6b!

We have been hard at work on our novel studies through our literacy work.
We have been learning lots about our topic, the Scottish Wars of Independence. Over the past few weeks, we have learned lots about the life and experiences of William Wallace. We have also learned about and written fantastic recounts of the Battle of Stirling Bridge!

We have been thoroughly enjoying Gaelic football and have been working hard to improve our skills over the past few weeks.

On Thursday, we dressed up for World Book Day and enjoyed taking part in activities in relation to this.

Also, we learned how to bake empire biscuits! They were delicious!

World Book Day!

We had a great day talking about our favourite books and dressing as characters from our books! We spent the afternoon finishing Roald Dahl’s ‘Esio Trot’ and making tortoises. We had lots of fun!

Pet Homes in P.1/2

As part of our Pets and Animals topic, we worked at home with our parents to make a 3D habitat for an animal of our choice. We think our little animal friends would be delighted to live in one of these houses.

Here we are enjoying some play area time with our friends. It’s been busy at the Vets recently but luckily we have some skilled vets and nurses to look after the animals.

During P.E time we have been learning lots of different balances. This week we focused on balances with a partner. Don’t we look like professional gymnasts?

Primary 1 update.

In RE, we have been learning about what Jesus teaches us. He teaches us to love God with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind and all our strength, and to love others as we want to be loved. On Friday, we made hearts for each other to share our love with our classmates. Everyone worked around six different stations, gathering the material so they needed to make a special heart filled with love.

In our toys topic, we learn different that different forces make toys move. The wind makes out kite move by pushing it through the sky. We made these kite designs using painted paper. Our target was to create some clear, careful patterns with a paintbrush, making sure we did not squash the brush into the paper but used it gently to make clear shapes.

Then, we listened to a story called “Someone bigger” and it was all about flying a kite. Everyone wrote their own kite story.

On Friday, Pets at Home came to tale to us about some of their pets. They brought along some guinea pigs and a rabbit. It was very interesting.

Hieroglyphics in Primary 3

We have continued our Ancient Egyptian topic by learning about hieroglyphics. We had so much fun gathering information through books, videos and PowerPoints. We also used hieroglyphics to write our own names. It was great fun!
