As you can imagine, we have been very busy in P.3. Our topic this term is Matilda and we are having lots of fun learning about this interesting girl. We drew pictures of Matilda using charcoal and pictures of Miss Trunchbull using pastels. We blended the pastels to get a lovely finish.
During R.E time we have been thinking of the ways we can show God’s love to others. We are full of God’s love and we should try and show love to others every day. We made hearts for our altar and we think they look brilliant!
We have been learning the 8 times table in maths. It’s pretty tricky but we are getting there. Our writing is improving every day and some of us have noticed a big difference in our handwriting. We are so proud of ourselves.

Primary 2 have had an interesting and hard working week!
In maths we have been learning how numbers are made up by tens and units. We used lots of different materials to build the numbers and are becoming more confident. We even made our own Under the Sea tens and units jelly fish!
Here you can see some of our lovely art work. We have been learning about Under the Sea for our topic and we know a lot about sea horses. We did lots of research and wrote fact files about them.
Being friendly in school is very important and we read a story about some very friendly fish. We think we are very good friends in Primary 2!
Our tens and units skills are improving ad our teacher could not catch us out this week with even the trickiest numbers.
More fabulous Under the Sea art work here! After researching the life cycle of the sea turtle, we drew and painted our own terrific sea turtles.
We have been using the “ck”phoneme this week – look at this fantastic dictated sentence! So neat too!

We have been busy in class. In maths, we have been learning about halves. We can work out how many halves can make a whole, we can count in halves.
In reading, we are looking at non fiction books and learning to use the contents page correctly.
Everyone is enjoying finding out new information about interesting animals, places and people. Some of us are reading about the banana spider!
In our topic work, we are also learning new facts. This week, we have read and researched information about the sea turtle. We have written reports about the life cycle of a sea turtle and we have created our own sea turtles after looking closely at them in their underwater environments.
Also, we have learning a new sound this week, the ee sound, and using it to write new words and sentences.
