P6a Daily Plan Wednesday 01.04.20

Good morning everyone! Here are your tasks for today. Try and reply to me on the news feed on Glow to let me know how your day is going. Remember, just try your best!

LITERACY

1. Spelling: Group 1 – Find the ‘ci’ and ‘ti’ to make ‘sh’ words on your grid. Write your words three times and write a sentence with each word, using other ambitious words.

Group 2 – Write your words for today in rainbow spelling.

2. Reading

Diamonds and Emeralds – Read ‘An Indian in the Cupboard’ again, it is in the Diamonds and Emeralds section on Glow. There are also comprehension questions in this folder. You are going to answer these today, in full answers. Use your summary from yesterday to help you too! The question tells you how many marks it is worth, this is a guide to how long your answer should be. Don’t worry if you don’t get them all finished, just make sure you have full, HOT answers.

Rubies and Sapphires – Read ‘The Butterfly Lion’ again, it is in the Rubies and Sapphires folder in the Literacy section. There are also comprehension questions in this folder. You are going to answer these today, in full answers. Use your summary from yesterday to help you too!

Break

MATHS

3. Tables Skills – Practise your 8 and 9 times table to yourself. Write them down. Choose two and try to write down 2 other number sentences with the same numbers. Like the example from yesterday!

4. Mental Maths – Complete the Tuesday column of ‘Mental Maths 30.3.20 Page 1’. It is in the Mental Maths folder in the Numeracy section. I will post the answers later!

5. Sumdog – Play Sumdog for 30 minutes. I’ve set a new challenge for today and tomorrow.

Lunch

6. Topic – Find the PowerPoint called ‘William Wallace Shield Design’ in the Topic section of Glow. First, read about the Armour, Weapons, Battle Equipment and Coat of Arms used during the Scottish Wars of Independence. Take some notes under these three subheadings and draw a picture for each section. Use the information on the PowerPoint. (This is all you have to do today for Topic – The task at the end of the PowerPoint is for tomorrow!!)

7. P.E. with Joe Wicks – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy1yab7jAcU

Click the link and do some exercise.

Have a great day everyone! Remember I am here to help you when you need it, just send me a message 🙂

Good morning Primary 5! 31.3.20

Good morning children!

Today you should continue with the Weekly Grid that we started yesterday. Remember to choose a selection of tasks: try to do at least two red tasks per day, one or two orange tasks per day and one green task per day. You can choose the order in which you want to complete the tasks. Your spelling words and activities are in the Literacy folder on our P5 Glow page. Log in to Sum Dog for your challenges today. Your mental maths is in the Mental Maths folder. The Sumdog House will be opened this afternoon as a reward.

I will be working at the North Lanarkshire Hub this morning but will be back online this afternoon to see how you are all getting on. You can share your work on our Glow page and also on Dojo.

Have a great day!

P6a Daily Plan Tuesday 31.03.20

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all well. Here is today’s suggested plan. Remember do what you can and send me pictures to keep me up to date. I will post a message on Glow this afternoon. Try to reply to me when you see it.

LITERACY

1. Spelling: Group 1 – Find the suffix ‘ment’ meaning  ‘an act of..(the root word)’ on your grid. Choose a fun spelling task and write your words three times. Try to come up with your own words for this suffix.

Group 2 – Choose a fun spelling task and write your words for today.

2. Reading

Diamonds and Emeralds – You are going to read ‘An Indian in the Cupboard’, it is in the Diamonds and Emeralds section on Glow. It is quite a long passage, so take your time. Write a paragraph to tell me what it is about. Try to include at least 6 sentences.  You will be answering questions on this tomorrow so this will help you! Send me your summary on Dojo.

Rubies and Sapphires – You are going to read ‘The Butterfly Lion’, it is in the Rubies and Sapphires folder in the Literacy section. Write 6 sentences to tell me what the passage is about. Try to have 2 sentences for the beginning, 2 for the middle and 2 for the end.

Break

MATHS

3. Tables Skills – Practise your 6 and 7 times table to yourself. Choose two and try to write down 2 other number sentences with the same numbers (The multiplication and division ones we do in class when you swap the numbers around. For example: 6 x 7 = 42, we also know that 7 x 6 = 42 and 42 ÷ 6 = 7).

4. Maths Exercise

Group 1 – Remember when you multiply decimals you move the digits to the left. You are going to complete the task called ‘Multiplying decimals by 10, 100 and 1000 31.03.20’ in Group 1 folder in, then Fractions, Decimals and Percentages folder in the Numeracy section. Copy and complete the table. I will talk you through how many places to move the digits to the left if you get stuck! Just send me a message on Dojo.

Group 2 – We are working on subtraction and with bigger numbers. You are going to complete ‘Subtraction Revision Exercise 31.03.20’ in Group 2’s folder in the Numeracy section. If you get stuck just send me a message and I will help you!

Lunch

5. R.E. – The Stations of the Cross. Watch this video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0qv7c4PsrA

Write down all of the Stations of the Cross as you watch it again. I have added a PowerPoint into the R.E. section in Glow to help you.

6. Play Sumdog only if you get everything finished! Remember don’t worry if you don’t finish everything, just try your best 🙂

If you need help with anything, get in touch on Glow or Dojo and I will talk you through it. Have a great day everyone!
