Working from home in primary 7

Primary 7 have been very dedicated to continue learning at home since we have returned after the Easter Holidays. I have been so impressed by all of the excellent work that has been sent to me.

Last week we learned all about Pearl Harbour through topic and literacy. We continue with really tricky percentages in maths and we even became reporters in story writing time. Keep up the great work boys and girls.

Monday 27th April Primary 3

Good morning Primary 3,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. I have attached your activities for today. This afternoon I will be in the school hub with children of Key Workers. It would be great if you could all look over your activities this morning and if you have any questions, please send me a message before 11.30am as I will not be able to get back to you between 12 and 3.30pm.

If you can, please send me a little message or photograph today to let me know what you have been up to. I hope you all have a great day!

Miss Kiernan’s Magic Monday

Hi All

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Challenges for today!

Primary 1-3 Choose one of the writing prompts from the writing activity in your class folder and write a short story on your chosen subject. You could also illustrate your story! Remember to use a capital letter and full stop!

Primary 4-5 – Try the monster writing activity which I have put into your class folder. Use the word-bank with the super adjectives to help you.

Primary 6-7 – Try the writing task in your class folder. You have to write a ‘story setting’ (where the story takes place). Use the picture prompts and the key words in the word bank to help you. Remember to read over your work!

Happy Monday!

Good morning Primary 5! 27.04.20

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed to get outside and enjoy some sunshine.

Here we are at the beginning of another week of home learning. I have uploaded the weekly task grid to the class

story on Dojo and to our Glow page. I have changed the weekly task grid to make it easier to use. There are 5

activities for each day, Monday – Wednesday. Miss Connor will post her tasks on Thursday in the same format.

Again, it is entirely up to you how you complete the tasks. You may wish to complete them in the order I have given, or you may want to pick and choose tasks in an order and pace that suits you best.

There are two Sumdog challenges running from Monday to Wednesday: a tables challenge and a mixed skills

challenge. Try to login each day and have a go.

I love to see what you’re getting up to. Please share photos of your work here on Glow or on Dojo. You will see on the weekly grid that one of your tasks this week is to post a photo of something you have done

this week that you are proud of. It could be a piece of work, baking, planting seeds, drawing, keepy uppies, making or designing something, helping to cook a meal – anything that you’re proud of! Can’t wait to see what you get up to this week!

Your spelling words for Term 4 can be found in the ‘Spelling’ folder in the Literacy section of Glow. Select your groups folder and you will find your spelling words for Term 3 and Term 4.
– Choose a fun spelling task and write today’s words in this way.

09:30- 10:35: IDL – Research (ALL)
– Research an astronaut of your choice and take notes about them. Information which you might want to include may be:
What is their name?
Which mission(s) were they involved in?
How long did they spend in space?
What do their duties include?

The link below will take you to NASA’s website where astronauts answer students questions. You might want to have a look. It may answer any questions that you may have! 🙂 :

Our Week in Primary 3

The children in Primary 3 have been busy this week accessing their learning online. We have been practising our addition, subtraction and times tables through activity sheets and Sumdog this week. We have also used PowerPoints and written tasks to practise our phonemes and common words, and have accessed reading books through Oxford Owl, World Books and Big Cat Reading.

We introduced our new topic which is Planet Earth and many children have completed fantastic models of the Earth based on their new learning. We have also carried out lots of research online about our planet. As it was Earth Day on Wednesday, many children also made use of the outdoors and explored nature during their walk.

It has been a busy week and we have had lots of fun.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Primary 1 update 24.4.20

This week in Primary 1, we have been learning using a variety of resources. We have been using Glow to access power points, games, activities and worksheets. We have also used Espresso Education and a new site called Oak National Academy, where we learned all about the weather and the seasons. BBC bitesize has also been great for learning some new facts about weather and the changing seasons. You will also see some of our Spanish flags that we designed after doing some research.

Mrs Maclean’s Obstacle Course Challenge

Good morning everyone, and happy Friday!

I have uploaded new activities into today’s Health and Wellbeing folder on Glow. As we’ve had such great weather this past week, today’s P.E. activity involves making and completing your own obstacle course. I’d love to hear all about your obstacle course on Glow, you could even post a photo of your finished creation. You could post to your class page, or I’ve now made a folder in the Wellbeing section called ‘children’s work’. Feel free to upload photos or notes into it if you wish. Copy and paste the link below to take you directly to the Wellbeing section in Glow.
