Good Morning From Mrs Maclean

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well and excited for another week of home learning!

I have uploaded new tasks into today’s folder in the Health and Wellbeing section in Glow (beneath the blue class tiles). Starting this week, there will also be a Health lesson every day as one of your tasks. Each week there will be a different theme the lessons are based around. This week’s Health Focus theme is… Handwashing!

Also, if you’d like to share any photos of your Health and Wellbeing learning, I have now created a folder called ‘Children’s Work’ underneath my daily task folders. Or you could share them on your class Glow page, I love to see all of your fantastic work.

Stay safe everyone!

P6a Monday 27.04.20

Good morning boys and girls. I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Here is your plan for today.

Monday 27th April

LITERACY

  1. Spelling – Group 1 – I have uploaded a new spelling grid for you. It is in the spelling folder and called ‘Group 1 Term 4’. Find your words for today and write them using rainbow spelling. Group 2 – Find today’s words on your grid. Write them using pyramid spelling.

  1. Topic Research (All) – Research an astronaut of your choice and take notes about them. Try to include the following:
    What is their name?
Which mission(s) were they involved in?
How long did they spend in space?
    What do their duties include?

The link below will take you to NASA’s website where astronauts answer student’s questions. You might want to have a look. Have a wee look if you finish your task:
https://www.nasa.gov/centers/johnson/pdf/569954main_astronaut%20_FAQ.pdf

NUMERACY

  1. Mental Maths – Open the folder called ‘Mental Maths’ within the Numeracy section of our Glow page. Complete ‘Monday’ of Mental Maths 27.04.20 Page 1.
  2. Group 1 –Some more Bodmas revision today. It is in the Group 1’s Numeracy folder. These are a bit trickier than last week’s but you have done problems like this before. Remember do multiplication or division first, then work from left to right. Send me a message if you get stuck and I will talk you through it. Try questions 1-6. Here is a clip that might help you:

Group 2 – We are going to try some word problems today. Read the question and make sure you understand what it is asking. Then decide if you need to use addition or subtraction. Try the challenge in the red box too!

SUMDOG

  1. Play Sumdog – I will set a new challenge today. I wonder who will earn the most points!

Have a great day of learning everyone. Remember, just send me a message if you need anything at all, or even just to say hi 🙂

Working from home in primary 7

Primary 7 have been very dedicated to continue learning at home since we have returned after the Easter Holidays. I have been so impressed by all of the excellent work that has been sent to me.

Last week we learned all about Pearl Harbour through topic and literacy. We continue with really tricky percentages in maths and we even became reporters in story writing time. Keep up the great work boys and girls.

Monday 27th April Primary 3

Good morning Primary 3,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. I have attached your activities for today. This afternoon I will be in the school hub with children of Key Workers. It would be great if you could all look over your activities this morning and if you have any questions, please send me a message before 11.30am as I will not be able to get back to you between 12 and 3.30pm.

If you can, please send me a little message or photograph today to let me know what you have been up to. I hope you all have a great day!

Miss Kiernan’s Magic Monday

Hi All

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Challenges for today!

Primary 1-3 Choose one of the writing prompts from the writing activity in your class folder and write a short story on your chosen subject. You could also illustrate your story! Remember to use a capital letter and full stop!

Primary 4-5 – Try the monster writing activity which I have put into your class folder. Use the word-bank with the super adjectives to help you.

Primary 6-7 – Try the writing task in your class folder. You have to write a ‘story setting’ (where the story takes place). Use the picture prompts and the key words in the word bank to help you. Remember to read over your work!

Happy Monday!

Good morning Primary 5! 27.04.20

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed to get outside and enjoy some sunshine.

Here we are at the beginning of another week of home learning. I have uploaded the weekly task grid to the class

story on Dojo and to our Glow page. I have changed the weekly task grid to make it easier to use. There are 5

activities for each day, Monday – Wednesday. Miss Connor will post her tasks on Thursday in the same format.

Again, it is entirely up to you how you complete the tasks. You may wish to complete them in the order I have given, or you may want to pick and choose tasks in an order and pace that suits you best.

There are two Sumdog challenges running from Monday to Wednesday: a tables challenge and a mixed skills

challenge. Try to login each day and have a go.

I love to see what you’re getting up to. Please share photos of your work here on Glow or on Dojo. You will see on the weekly grid that one of your tasks this week is to post a photo of something you have done

this week that you are proud of. It could be a piece of work, baking, planting seeds, drawing, keepy uppies, making or designing something, helping to cook a meal – anything that you’re proud of! Can’t wait to see what you get up to this week!
