Here are our Mini -Me’s! Mrs Carlin uses them to choose random children for a variety of tasks, questions or activities during the day. She especially likes to use them since we are a “no hands up” class when she’s teaching us. This means we all need to be listening and learning because she could choose any Mini-Me to answer or ask a question or complete a task! It keeps us on our toes….

We’ve been studying Elvis Presley as part of our 1960s topic and we wrote some excellent information reports about him. We learned that Elvis has had a huge influence on music and that he is the biggest selling solo artist of all time!
We’ve been very busy making our Elvis wall display too. We have been studying a form of art from the 1960s called ‘Op Art.’ An artist called Bridget Riley made it very famous by using black and white patterns to trick the eye into seeing moving 3D images. Some of her work even caused people to be seasick! We made our own ‘Elvis Op Art’:
Then we ‘quiffed up’ and made ourselves into Elvis. Here is our wall display all ready for the show. We hope you can pop in to see it soon:

We have been gathering information about our feelings and our favourite pets. We displayed our findings on a block chart. Miss Duffy was very pleased with us!
We were able to see that most people liked dogs.
You can see some of us are sad because the school day is almost finished and we have been having such fun!

We are getting very excited up here in primary 7 as it is only a week to go until Kilbowie. On Friday we celebrated another great week with common room time and a cake for someone special’s birthday! Right, now we are all off home to pack our cases for kilbowie and practice how to make our beds!!!!

Primary seven are very excited about the sixties show. We got our heads together to try and decide what to do for costumes to sing our beach boys song. after much talking and research we decided tie dye would be a fun and exciting costume to make and wear. This week we all successfully managed to make a tie dye Tshirt. It was brilliant fun and not a drop of ink was spilled. Each design is different and a reflection of each individual in the class. We can not wait to wear these on stage and we are so proud of them we can not wait to wear them out of school too!

Well they have been doing their job for a couple of weeks now and they have really impressed everyone. These newly elected house captains are smartly presented, enthusiastic, helpful, responsible and a fabulous role model to the younger pupils. They have been complemeted for their excellent manners. We have a lot planned for this group of young folk and I can not wait to work further with them.

We have had a vote to name our little pet fish. Everyone had a chance to think of a name, then we chose the 6 most popular and we voted. Here are the results.
