Phew! It’s been very busy here in P4 as we get ever closer to becoming Primary 5’s. We’re starting to look like P5’s, we’re starting to behave like P5’s and our work is definitely of a P5 standard! Here are some examples of our wonderful writing. Mrs McLean is super impressed…
In maths, we have been learning all about standard units of measure. We know that length is measured in centimetres and metres, and we have been practising how to estimate and measure lots of everyday items…
And that’s not all! In science, we’ve been investigating what different types of germs can do to our bodies. We took part in a role play where we became doctors and patients and diagnosed each other’s illnesses…
We also decided to explore how germs spread. We have started a scientific experiment that we’ll need to keep an eye on over the next few days. We learned about the terms ‘control group’ and ‘hypothesis’ and tested different areas in the classroom for germs using pieces of bread. We also tested our clean hands and our dirty hands…
We have tested lots of surfaces including a chewed pencil, the light switch, the floor, a sole of someone’s shoe and even Luka’s hair! We hypothesise that the light switch will show up the most germs. We’ll keep you posted!
We were also given a very special treat this week by the lovely ladies in the Pray for Our School Group. To celebrate our recent First Holy Communion, the ladies put on a tea for us and we were well and truly spoiled. We were also given beautiful gifts of Rosary Beads from Poland and Fatima, and Miraculous Medals which have been blessed by the Bishop of Nottingham. A huge and heartfelt thanks to the ladies for their kindness…
And last but not least, some photos of the amazing day we had at Primary Games last week…
Have a great weekend everyone!
