After a good look around the museum, the primary 7 children had a chance to look through boxes of artifacts. We had a chance to pack an evacuation suitcase, take care of an injured soldier, make do and mend one outfit to another and we even watched as one of our pupils was transformed into Land girl! We learned little war beauty tips like how tea bags were used to make a dye for ladies legs and how a burnt cork can be used for mascara!
It was a great day out and you could even hear our children singing war songs as they got into the right spirit in the Anderson shelter.
