Primary 2/3

It’s been another great week of learning in primary 2/3. This week during numeracy both groups learned about different symbols we can use to create number sentences. The squares group looked at the greater than and less than symbols whilst the circles group revisited the greater than and less than symbols and learned about the equal to and not equal too symbols. We had great fun using different materials to make number sentences and then draw our own greater than or less than crocodiles to complete our own number sentence.

During literacy time this week each group read a non-fiction book and enjoyed finding out some new facts and information. We then chose some interesting words from our book and had a go at arranging these in alphabetic order. This was a new activity for us this week and we are looking forward to trying it again with more of our reading books.

This week we were very excited to meet up with our primary 6 buddies. Our buddies enjoyed listening to us reading to them and they were happy to help us with any tricky words. We are looking forward to meeting up again with them next week.

Lastly we started work on some lovely autumn art at the end of the week. Miss Allington read us the story about ‘The Little Acron’ and we talked about the different changes we can see in the environment around us, now that we are in the autumn season. We then began decorating our squirrel outlines using the finger painting technique to create our own autumn coloured pattern on the squirrels body. We then created our own autumn trees using tissue paper to fill out the branches of our trees. We are looking forward to finishing out autumn art next week and these will be on display at the main foyer for everyone to see 😁🍁❤️
