We are all working rally hard at improving our reading skills and learning to look for information in the books we are reading. Here we are reading a tricky book about Animal Feet, we need to use the contents page to find out about different animals.

At task time, we are writing by ourselves. We use lots of different things to help us and to give us ideas. You can see some of the characters from the Story Bag that we can write about.

In our maths, we are working on measure and are learning to measure the area of different shapes. As well as this we are doing Number Talks – a strategy which helps us talk about out mathematical thinking and explain how we got the answer.

If you walk into our lovely school, you will see the wall displays from each class – here is our term three display when we were exploring different ways to travel.

As part of our PE sessions we are working on improving our coordination and our fine motor skills, this means improving our muscles in our fingers and hands, which helps us with lots of other activities in class including writing neatly.

Last week, we visited the school kitchen and made our healthy fruit kebabs. We prepared and shared these with our Primary 2 and Primary 3 friends in the afternoon. Everyone loved the fruit kebabs and there was not a single piece of healthy food left over at the end of our buffet!

Primary 1 made 90 kebab sticks to share with the P2’s and P3’s!
