Primary six had great fun with World book day today.
Children were asked to bring in favourite books and an item from their book. We then had a talk in front of the class about why we chose our book, best part, favourite character etc. Children then amazed us all with objects from their books. We had magic wands from Harry Potter, sparkly gems from Gansta Granny and even a baseball from a marvel book!
One of the best things about our talks was that we had learned about new books from each other that we want to go on and read!
We then went on to become illustrators and we designed new front covers for our favourite books.
After all that we watched trailers about new book releases on the world book day website and we listened to some authors talk about their writers craft!
We finished off with a reading session in our own class library. What a brilliant day!
