During our RE this week, we are learning more about the life of Jesus. In the past few weeks, we have learned about where Jesus lived as a boy and how he grew into a teacher. Today we heard the story of one of His miracles. After listening to and watching the story of The Loaves and Fish, we made sentences in our coop groups and read and wrote them.

Also this week, we are learning more about words in our Word Aware activities. This week, our word is terrified. We made up sentences about being terrified!

Our spinner helps us remember the word of the week and understand what it means. When we spin the spinner, we can get to do different tasks.

Everyone in the class is getting really smart at using capital letters. Some of the capitals are tricky to remember but we are doing lots of different activities to help us really learn them.

Making and writing words is a big part of our weekly tasks. We use lots of different resources to make words and here you can see us making CVCSpinner words with our Sea of Sounds fish!

In maths we are learning all about money and have realised that it is just like adding. We can use our knowledge of numbers and our numicon shapes to help us understand the values of the coins. We are now working on putting out amounts to 20p and are really pretty skilled at it.

Using numicon, we can makeup our own addiction numbers stories. We can see how many additions we can make in a minute!

Number Talks is part of our daily routine in maths. Here we are talking about what coins we can see and how we see them. When we talk about this, we might talk about the doubles we can add together, we might talk about how it is easy to add 1p as this is just like adding one more, we might also say that it is easy to add 2p as this isn’t the same as jumping on two more numbers. When we talk about numbers, everyone is involved and it helps us think about the strategies we use when using money.
