Primary 3 recently studied hockey for the first time as part of our P.E. programme. We started off with a quick warm-up called ‘Toilet Tig’. This game is really fun, and nowhere near as disgusting as the name sounds!

After that, we learned how to hold a hockey stick correctly. We then learned that, when dribbling in hockey matches, you should aim to keep the ball close to you so no one can tackle you. We put this skill into practice by dribbling around the hall. What great control!

After that, we split up into teams and practiced dribbling around objects. This was a little bit tricky!

Finally, it was time for a quick cool-down. We decided to play one of our favourite games called ‘Traffic Lights’.

What a great lesson! We had fun, learned new skills and worked together. We can’t wait for next week!
