Primary Five had the trip of a lifetime last week when they visited Tullihouse Museum in Carlisle. Our bus journey was a lot longer than normal but we had to pass the border between Scotland and England to travel to Carlisle. The journey was an adventure it’s self with folks singing, chatting and sleeping!
When we got there we were greeted by lovely staff and taken around the museum. Then we took part in workshops where we were detectives and archeologists. We were smelling things, feeling them, sorting them and identifying items. We even had a look at bones, weapons, shoes and clothes. Then we were allowed to dress up like Romans and Celts! Everyone agreed it was awesome.
After lunch we went down stairs in the museum which is a massive area dedicated to Romans alone!
We were dressing up again, playing interactive computer games, looking at artefacts and we even had an attempt at building a Roman wall! We even managed to squeeze in a visit to the shop!
A fabulous day out for our fabulous class!
