Scottish Wars of Independence

Our new topic is now in full flow and this week we were learning about the wax seals used by nobles when sending letters.  We have now began to create our own personal wax seal. We began by looking at examples of wax seals before discussing some of the features these had.  The next stage was to create our own design based on what we had discussed in our lesson. We did this by designing it in our jotters which we then used when creating our clay moulds.

We did this by rolling out a piece of clay and used bottle lids to create the round shape we required. After this we used cocktail sticks to add our design to the clay. Once the clay moulds are dry we will use these to create our own wax seals in class.

In other news the homework projects were due in this week and I am pleased to say they all look fantastic and I cannot wait to hear the pupil’s talks next week. Have a great couple of days off and we will see you back on Thursday.
