It’s been another very productive week in Primary 4.
On Wednesday, there was an egg decorating frenzy as we took part in the annual St. Bart’s Egg Decorating competition! As always, our creativity was very impressive. Here we are making our wonderful creations…
And here’s some we made earlier (they couldn’t be entered as they were done at home but great effort boys and girls!)…
Our winner can be found on Mr Young’s blog. Well done!
Of course we didn’t forget, amid all the Easter fun, that we are now able to celebrate the last Station of the Cross – Jesus’s Resurrection. We discussed what this means for us and we decided to visit the oratory to have a closer look at the beautiful Stations of the Cross that can be seen along the walls…
After that, it was back to class to create our own Stations of the Cross. We discussed how colour, tone and shade can express different moods and feelings. We then had to decide, based on the Station that we are each creating, what colours would best reflect the mood at that particular time in Jesus’s journey. We used chalk pastels to create our ‘mood’ backgrounds…
We’ll add symbols to our backgrounds when we return after the Easter Break.
Our R.E linked art projects continued this week as we put the finishing touches to our First Communion banners. Our preparation for the Sacrament is well underway now and we just have one more thing to add to our banners before we’re ready to display our work. Here’s a sneak preview…
We are really looking forward to our break now and wish everyone a happy Easter holiday.
