What a great end to a lovely week here in Primary 1/2. We were all very pleased to hear Mr Young announce that we were the cool class this week.
Here’s a quick update on our experiences this week….
In maths we Primary 1 are learning to add and subtract by counting on and back on a number line while Primary 2 are becoming very confident with their addition and subtraction skills up to 20.
We are learning to use Word when we are in the computer room. We are learning to type our own sentence then change the colour, size and font. Later we will add pictures too.
In PE we are starting a block on Hockey. We looked at a BBC Bitesize video that showed us how to hold a hockey stick, then we were able to practice our skills in the PE hall. It was tricky but we will get better with practice.
As part of our reading this term we are learning all about information books. One group have been reading all about Rock Pools. This clever girl even made her very own rock pool – WOW!
Through ABC music we are all becoming pretty good at keeping the beat and playing our instruments at the right time. We even had a chance to be the conductor this week!
As it’s very cold, we are looking at weather through our drama. This session, we pretended to be Jack Frost, leaping and dancing around the room covering everything in a glittery, sparkly blanket of white. We worked on our own and in little groups. In our groups we created a Jack Frost dance that linked with the music we could hear.
