Mr Young’s visit and more……

Last week we made fruit salad and when we talked about our learning with Mrs Carlin at the end of the week we asked if we could make more healthy snacks with fruit. So this week Mrs Carlin showed us a great espresso module that guided us through the process of making fruit kebabs.  One morning this week we were all given 20p to spend in the class Greengrocer shop. P.1 had all 1p coins and P.2 had a mix of coins. Mrs Ruddy came and played the part of the shopkeeper !

I counted out my money and paid Mrs Ruddy.

I chose three bags of fruit and paid the shopkeeper. I even had change!

Then we got organised to make our fruit kebabs. We worked in cooperative groups and everyone had a job to do. Here is a quick snapshot…….

I make sure I don’t touch the sharp point on the kebab stick.

We invited Mr Young to our class and he came to see how we got on making fruit kebabs.

Mr Young spent some time talking to us about creating our healthy snacks . Everyone helped each other as we worked as a cooperative team.

Also this week as part of our St Andrew’s experiences, we started to learn some Scottish Country Dancing…..it was great fun but very tiring.
