P7 to S1 Transition

Transfer from Primary to Secondary School:    

Pupils normally transfer between the ages of 11½ and 12½, so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least 4 years of secondary education. Parents will be informed of the arrangements no later than December of the year preceding the date of transfer at the start of the new session.

Pupils from Saint Andrew’s Primary normally transfer to:

St. Margaret’s High School

Transition Programme

  • The transition programme differs each year and will be communicated by the receiving secondary via  our school App.
  • Pupils requiring enhanced transition will be supported by both schools and children and parents will be involved in all planning.
