On the 16th of May 2019 the whole school went to Heads of Ayr Farm Park.The children got see the monkeys, horses, meerkats, goats and many other animals. They also got to go onto the bouncing pillows, went on the doughnut slide and zoomed down the zip wire. Everybody had an amazing time in the sunshine and made great memories with their friends.
Our leading holiday programme, which provides free meals for pupils during the holidays, has been expanded to include weekends. Club 365 will now open in eight venues every weekend and in 23 venues throughout school holidays as part of the council’s drive to tackle weekend and holiday hunger. Primary school pupils who qualify for free school meals can come along from 11.30am to 1.30pm and enjoy a hot lunch, sports

Wow – what an amazing afternoon we had at our Daffodil Tea! The children were singing, dancing, reciting poetry and playing instruments for their lovely parents, carers and visitors. It was a fun-filled, energetic afternoon to raise funds for St Andrew’s Hospice. We would like to thank everyone who came along and supported us.
On the 26th of March 2019, we had our termly a treat afternoon to celebrate our hard work. There were four different activities for the children to participate in. These were an obstacle course, making empire biscuits, Wii Just Dance game and wax art. Afterwards the whole school participated in the annual Easter egg hunt. Everybody loved this amazing treat and are now working hard to earn the summer treat.
Our Library Group has been working hard to ensure the library is a welcoming and enjoyable place to visit in the school. They have ordered book storage, created a cosy corner with cushions and a rug and have been displaying ‘Recommended Reading’. They have also been sorting and organising the shelves so that everyone can find a book they want to read. We are hoping more children will want to visit the library and everyone
A huge thank you to the Enterprise Committee who organised World Book Day for our enthusiastic learners. They ensured that every child in Shawhead Primary got to choose a book of their own to take home with them, a book token, sticker and a bookmark.
