All children have been issued with a home learning pack to use in the event of school closure or self-isolation. Within the packs there are various worksheets and activities to keep children learning at home. There are also login details to Sumdog and Glow. Within Glow, the children have been allocated to a ‘team’ and can access a range of resources that have been uploaded for them by class teachers.

In Term 3, Shawhead Primary will be taking part in the World’s Largest Lesson as part of our Rights Respecting Silver Award. World’s Largest Lesson introduces the Sustainable Development Goals to children and young people everywhere and unites them in action. The children have learned about the importance of sanitation as part of World Toilet Day. As a Rights Respecting School, the children know that they have the right to privacy and safe living conditions, and unfortunately over 4 billion people in the world do not have access to adequate facilities. The children are gaining an awareness of the world and the challenges faced by a lot of people.
The children in Primary 7 had a fantastic time at Kilbowie. They participated in activities including skiing, orienteering, rock climbing and hill walking. It was a great opportunity for them to increase their independence, try new activities and improve their team working and communication skills. They met new people, formed new friendships and provided support for each other on this exciting adventure. A great time was had by all!
On 7th-13th October we took part in a range of lessons and activities to help highlight poverty in Scotland. We focused on the relevant area of homelessness, the causes of it, the misconceptions surrounding it and the impacts on people.
