Safer School and Nusery

Let’s keep safe

Our aim is to ensure that our school is safe, happy, welcoming and secure for everyone.

  • We ask staff and children to think carefully about their own safety.
  • We lock children’s entrances after the start of the school day.
  • We ask all visitors to sign in and out and to wear a ‘visitor’ badge in the school or school grounds.
  • We ask all staff to wear identification badges.
  • We ask that you let us know if you are not collecting your child and let us know of any last minute changes to collection at the end of the day.
  • We ask that nursery parents and carers tell us the password used to collect their child so that in the event of a change of adult at collection we know that we are handing over your child safely.
  • We ask all visitors to follow carefully the directional signs both inside and outside the building.
  • We ask you to let us know if you see anyone acting suspiciously near our school.
  • We ask that all parents who volunteer to help in our school should undertake the disclosure procedure.
  • We ask you to share with us any ideas you may have to make our school safer.

And in particular

We ask everyone to be patient – good security can be frustrating

Stay and Play Invitation for New Primary 1 Children

Primary 1 Transition – August 2021

Stay and Play Invitation

3rd June 2021 – 2.00pm-2.45pm

16th June 2021 – 11.00am-12 noon

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are delighted to be able to invite you and your child to two Stay and Play sessions in our school playground.  We ask that you and your child come to school on the dates above, wearing suitable clothes for being outdoors. Mrs Barton and I will spend time with you and your child and will have some fun activities planned. Your child will get to use our playground equipment and we will get the opportunity to get to know them.

This has been a very different school year for everyone, so we have had to make changes to the sessions, but they will still be enjoyable for everyone. We ask that only one adult comes to the session to keep the risk of transmission to a minimum. In the event that these events cannot take place due to a change in Covid restrictions, we will let you know in advance.

Kind regards,

Helen Paterson
