Nurturing Early Readers
The following are the books your children will be reading within their Nurturing Early Readers groups this week:
Early Level Kodaly Programme
The Kodaly programme is now in it’s third week and is proving to be a success with the children. Through fun and interactive games, rhymes and songs the children have been using their voice to create sound and rhythm in various ways. Within this large group situation, children have also been learning to take turns and have been learning the difference between quiet and loud and fast and slow.
2-3 Years
A huge welcome back to all our families both returning and new. The new children within the Rainbow room have been playing alongside their peers and building relationships along the way. They have been having lots of fun exploring both the indoor and outdoor environment, and all the experiences available to them.
Early Level
The children in the Early Level have been building relationships through their play as they get to know each other by name. They have been learning how to work together, share and cooperate, while included in a variety of play situations. Practitioners are encouraging these newly developing friendships by role modelling emotional literacy.
Nurturing Early Readers
The following are the stories that the children will be listening to and exploring, as well as new vocabulary which will be promoted:
3-5 Nurturing Early Readers Programme
The Nurturing Early Readers programme has made a welcome return, with children excited to explore the characters and events in their new stories. The programme will run daily where the Three Read Approach to literacy will be used to enable children to develop their early literacy skills.
