The trip to the theatre was a huge success. On consultation with children here are a few of the favourite parts of the story heard through puppetry.
“The reindeer came out and jumped on the roof. I just loved the show it was so funny”
“My mum came with me, we got on the bus and my favourite part was Old McDonald and when Frosty came alive and jumped out.”
“Santa was at the puppet show with Rudolf”
“That’s me at the puppet show, my mum went too, that’s all my writing”
“My favourite was Panda”
“I like Panda he’s got legs”
“Pip, Rudolph, 2 Elves, Santa were in the show”
“Panda and Santa at the Puppet show, Santa got stuck up the chimney”
“Santa came out the chimney, he was silly”
“Panda, the lamppost hit him, it was funny”
“There was music on and Pip and Panda were dancing and even Santa Claus was dancing”
“When Panda was getting annoyed with the chicks”
“When Santa and the monkey and Panda and Elf turned the robot on and they were posting the letters to Santa”
“Frosty the snowman was funny, he came alive”
“Santa and the reindeer, Rudolf, the puppets were funny”
Since returning to nursery the children have been keen to put their literacy skills into action. They have shown an interest in using the different types of tools for writing and individual letter recognition and sounds.
Why don’t you help your child to recognise the letters in their name at home along with the initial sound of the first letter.
