We love to use ICT to enhance our learning in all curricular areas. This week we were looking at all units of measurements. 

Today Room 9 visited the infant department to estimate and measure the length and volume of various objects in the open area. 

I am really pleased with the effort that everyone has put into their interdisciplinary homework tasks this week. The children continue to surprise me with their ability to research, design and create wonderful work each week at home. Well done boys and girls!

Miss Jones

On Wednesday we will be releasing our trout into the Coltness Calder. The children have produced some excellent work during the time we have been participating in the project We will be really sad to see our little trout go as we have grown very fond of them! Look how big they are now! 

Today the children in Room 9 prepared three dishes using fish as the main ingredient. One group made tuna wraps, with sweetcorn and cucumber. Another group made mackerel pate served with breadsticks. The final group made bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Miss Jones was very impressed with the boys and girls who were brave enough to try new tastes for the first time. We would like to thank Miss Musgrave and Mrs Ivey for assisting us. 

For excellent effort and behaviour all last week. Well done! 

We been enjoying learning co-operatively as part of our topic work this term. Today in our co-op groups we were reading for information to create an informative poster about factors which affect shelter, food, oxygen and water quality for Brown Trout.

Well done to our latest Star Writers. Keep up the good work boys!

Yesterday Room 9 used the computers to access information online about the life cycle of Brown Trout. We used the notes taken to write an explanation report.
