Parent Literacy Drop In Afternoon

A great afternoon in Ladywell PS at the Literacy Parent Drop In.

Our focus for this session was Reading.

Thank you to all who managed to attend. Our pupils worked so hard to demonstrate their literacy skills in a variety of reading tasks.

A special thanks to all teachers and staff who prepared an excellent session to showcase pupil learning at Ladywell PS.

Motherwell’s on the map!

In IDL we are learning all about Motherwell. We have been using our map reading skills to try and locate places on a map of Motherwell. We also had a go at locating Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen on a map of Scotland!

We had a trip to the Heritage Centre on Friday 19th November. We learned about the history of the town and how it got the name Motherwell. We compared maps of Motherwell today and Motherwell 100 years ago. We had lots of fun!

Health Week

Primary 4 were very busy during health week. We tried football, tae kwon do, t’ai chi and athletics. Everyone had great fun on the adventure course. We also had some interesting talks about keeping healthy, helmet safety and completed lots of health activities in class.

First week back to school…..

We had a great first week back in P4! Everyone had a lovely holiday and enjoyed seeing everybody in their class again. We spent some time doing activities to get to know each other and enjoyed making ‘getting to know me’ pennants to brighten up our new base! We also began our new theme ‘The Rainforest’ which looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun! Our base already looks a little bit like a Tropical Rainforest but we’ve got lots of artwork to do to make it look even better! We are looking forward to the rest of P4! See you soon…..
