Almond Valley Farm 2017

April 28, 2017 by Mrs Bamford | 0 comments

P1b had the “best day ever” on our trip to Almond Valley Farm. They saw lots of animals, went on a tractor ride, played in the park, looked for bones in the sandpit, jumped on the bouncy pillow, bounced on the bouncy cow, went on the trampolines, visited the shop and went into the soft play!! A fun day was had by all! Thanks to our helpers too! Our teddy Rosie from St. Andrews Hospice had fun too !

Pirate Party Fun

P1b had a party to celebrate the end of our pirate topic. We read pirate stories, sang pirate songs, played pirate games and ate pirate cakes that we decorated!! We also talked about  our pirate models with our friends.

Pirates!!

P1 are enjoying the Pirates topic! Arrrrhh! They made fantastic treasure chests, pirate ships and desert islands as part of their homework.

Captain blackbeard visited our class and left us a treasure chest filled with treasure!!

We have written some super pirate stories and enjoyed pirate art activities and learned all about life on board a pirate ship.

Cress Seeds

P1b planted cress seeds because they have been learning about new life through our Spring topic. They took their seeds home to grow and brought them back in to discuss and show off the fab results!!

We also planted some as part of a class science experiment.

The seeds without water didn’t grow at all.

The seeds in the cupboard grew but were a funny yellow colour instead of nice healthy green.

The seeds that were watered and put in the sun grew just beautifully!

Parent Literacy Drop In Session

A great afternoon in Ladywell PS at the Literacy Parent Drop In.

Our focus for this session was Reading.

Thank you to all who managed to attend.  Our pupils worked so hard to demonstrate their literacy skills in a variety of reading tasks.

A special thanks to all teachers and staff who prepared an excellent session to showcase pupil learning at Ladywell PS.
